Overview

East Penn is currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant Admin to assist the Metals Division with administrative requirements encompassing the procurement of materials.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate purchase orders, enter & verify receipts, close purchase orders in Glovia and SOMAX (purchasing systems)
  • Match packing slips/bill-of-ladings to invoices
  • Timely verification and payment of invoices
  • Correspondence with vendors to include but not limited to scheduling issues, inventory & invoice discrepancies, etc.
  • Create and update various reports in word, excel, etc. as desired by Management
  • Maintain organized record keeping in compliance with retention guidelines/policies
  • Answer multi-line telephone, page or take messages for management as needed
  • Operates various office equipment - e.g. computer, copier, etc.
  • Other duties as may be required
  • All tasks are to be carried out with the utmost quality

*Maintains regular attendance.
*Ability to work mandatory over time.
Performs other duties as requested.
Responsible for producing a high quality product.
Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of procurement experience (Preferred, but not required)
  • A working knowledge of Glovia, SOMAX, Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite products) and standard office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and work with co-workers, suppliers and management (either in-person, telephone, email, and memos)
  • Ability to be organized and handle filing tasks
  • Ability to handle issues without assistance
  • Ability to use reason and analytical skills as needed
  • Ability to work independently and with a team (a motivated self-starter)
  • Present a positive, professional image to others (internal and external, as applicable) and retain composure under occasionally stressful conditions
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality relating to supply affairs
